Meet our staff
My name is Chelsea Ratterman, and I am the Editor in Chief of the 15th Street News as well as a Student Ambassador for RSC, a Student Senator and a member of Phi Theta Kappa. I graduated from Midwest City High School in 2011, after being editor in chief of the newspaper there for 3 years, as well as the TV Show, Bomber News. My major is Journalism. I love movies and hope to one day be a film critic!
I am Dennis Gosnell and the Assistant Editor of the 15th Street News. I came to Oklahoma and Rose State College from California. I spent five years in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Infantryman, serving out of Fort Richardson Alaska. I’ve long felt that writing, and by extension reading hold the key fundamentals to growing and finding ways in which to deal with difficult situations. I never really Imagined myself writing for a newspaper or that I would be any good at it. But here I am working for the 15th Street News and finding that I very much enjoy it.
My name is Amber Stafford and I am the Assignment Editor for the 15th Street News. I grew up here in the Midwest City-Del City area and graduated from Del City High 1996. After graduating from high school, I took some classes at Rose, but it just was not setting in so I decided to take some time off. Then I later met my husband Brian of 10 years, we have 2 boys: Riley 6 ,and Cooper, 5. After being a stay-at-home mother for the last 5 years, I decided to go back to school and finish what I started way back then. As I take on going back to school working toward my goal of becoming a broadcast journalist. It has been quite a journey juggling school, work, and family but I would not change anything. Everything happens for a reason; it is part of God’s plan. So I am very blessed to have a great family and great team here at the 15th Street News. I also enjoy being outdoors walking, running, or just soaking up some sun!
I am Michele Penix and I am the Graphic Artist. Good or bad it is my job to make the paper look it’s best. In 2006 I left an abusive marriage and thought that moving on with my life was going to be a major struggle. But then I decided to go back to college and do something with my life. With the support of my fiancée Mike, my family and his family things began to move forward and get increasingly better. This is my 3rd year at Rose State. I started with a degree in Accounting. But when I took a Flash class (for change of pace), I found out that I had a real knack for it. So I decided to change majors and dive right into the world of Graphic Art and Web Design. Now I am having a blast learning the in’s and out’s of the internet back bone, XHTML.
