Mesothelioma: According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, there are currently 25 million living individuals who have served in the United States' armed forces. Hundreds of thousands, if not millions of these living veterans were exposed to toxic asbestos-containing materials during military service. Widely used by every military branch, asbestos was highly regarded for its heat resistance and fireproofing capabilities. In fact, asbestos was so valued that the military even mandated widespread usage before eventually phasing out the material in the 1970s. Most military divisions utilized the caustic substance mainly for insulation purposes, but more than 300 products containing asbestos were used by the military, primarily by the Navy from the 1930s through the 1970s. Every ship and shipyard built by the Navy before the mid-70s was fitted with numerous asbestos-containing materials. A free site for veterans that provides:

Returning Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve service members of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom: This VA site intends to ease those frustrations and facilitate your transition from active participation in armed conflict back to civilian life with some basic tips for applying for benefits.

Tuition Assistance "Top Up" (TATU): Program and eligibility information concerning an amendment to the Montgomery GI Bill - Active Duty education program that permits VA to pay a Tuition Assistance Top- Up benefit. The amount of the benefit can be equal to the difference between the total cost of a college course and the amount of Tuition Assistance that is paid by the military for the course.

Vet Center: Vet Centers serve veterans and their families by providing a continuum of quality care that adds value for veterans, families, and communities. Care includes professional readjustment counseling, community education, outreach to special populations, broker’s services with community agencies, and provides a key access link between the veteran and other services in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment Services: VR&E provides to service-connected disabled veterans - vocational counseling to service-members and veterans who have recently separated from active duty.

Warrior Gateway: A quick, easy way for veterans to search for resources in their communities, ranging from finding jobs to locating health care facilities

WAVE (Web Automated Verification of Enrollment): (Chapter 30/1606/REAP): This site is where MGIB - Active Duty (Chapter 30) or MGIB - Selected Reserve must verify your enrollment online to receive your monthly education benefit payment(s).
